Our Farming Story

I joined the Lewis family as a townie from Brighton 14 years ago. Over these years spent in the Welsh hills I have fallen in love with farming and the way of life.

I introduced traditional breed Ruby Red Devon cattle onto the farm four years ago when I wanted to be able to look after the cows myself and found that Charolais cattle were a bit too feisty to handle with a young family! The breed have done everything that I hoped they would; they are gentle hardy animals, great mothers and importantly they really do have the wonderfully delicious marbled meat that they are famed for.

I absolutely love cattle and bridging the gap between the farmer and consumers who are also passionate about great tasting meat. Our beef boxes are available for delivery or take the opportunity to come to the farm and pick one up in person.

Our Family farm

My partner Gwyn and I farm Llanbedr Hall, a 400 acre Welsh hill farm, near Hay on Wye. We farm with our 3 children and our days centre around our sheep and cattle, along with our dogs, horses and the odd chicken and duck.

I am passionate about cattle and farming in a sustainable environmentally conscious way. Coming from an urban upbringing I understand the need for educating the public on where their meat comes from, and why it is so important to support British farming.

Our cattle are reared on the Welsh hills for approximately two and a half years and then taken 25 miles to a small family run abattoir. Our aim is to give the cattle a great life roaming the beautiful Welsh hills, and then as quick and stress free end as possible. I love that I know each animal personally and the cows have plenty of individual personality and stories attached to each one.
